S For Saturday, S For Special

Bismillah,  So, do you want a story that explains our address? Not just the house number, street number, city, state, country, continent all of it, our whole address.  The phone rings, and I pick it up, thinking for it to be my friend Victoria, for the screen said that. But when I took the phone to my ears, I heard a totally strange voice.  "Hello? " I splutter "HI" Victoria says, no! It's not Victoria, she never sounded like that, I think somebody named Victoria called me by mistake.  "Erm, I think you have called at the wrong number," I say "no, I'm at the right number" the gloomy voice says, I didn't reply, and was about to cut the call when the voice said something that shook my nerves.  "What's your address? " the voice asks me.  I said "What?! " "I said, what's your address?", I was surprised, why did she want to know my address?  "Why do you want to know? " "I want to check

Poem: Wolves

Image
In the dead of the night,  The cold of the artic,  Creeps in my bones,  My hands are numb,  Unable to light a fire.  So I go in my tent,  And go in my sleeping bag,  And felt a little better,  For my sleeping bag was warm,  But that was not it.  As soon as I was about to sleep,  I heard a sound,  And I was sure it was a howl,  And the howl had came from a wolf,  Because there were no dogs in the Arctic!  No one could save me,  Except for the god, of course,  I didn't know where I was,  Except I was in the artic,  But I don't know where in the artic, Because I was lost!  So the wolves came closer,  And I knew that cuz of their footsteps,  Oh, save me, god!  I hear more howls and growls,  And I knew there were many,  For a wolf is always with its pack.  It sleeps with them (pack) It hunts with them,  It takes care of the pups with them,  It eats with them,  It respects and loves them.  So now they would hunt me,  Their footsteps coming closer,  Closer,  And closer,  Until I heard

Bird62:Cockatiels vs budgies

Image
I think cockatiels are the greatest pet bird ever, although they might not be as common as budgies, but everything that's common is not always the better.  let me tell you the difference between a cockatiel and a budgie.  Social difference Budgies don't like being touched, but like sitting on perches. While cockatiels like being touched and cuddled, they also like sitting on perches. A budgie will become depressed if left alone, while a cockatiel will only need some time of yours, and can be left alone for a while. So cockatiels are an ideal choice for busy people.  Vocal difference A cockatiel is (a lot) calmer than a budgie, while a budgie is always twittering, other than at night(when they sleep) they don't chirp at night only. If you want to know about the capacity of their talking, I might say budgies might be better at that, they have a higher vocabulary than cockatails, but a cockatiel's voice is more clearer than a budgie's, so when a cockatiel starts talki

10 Most Rare Birds Found In The World

Image
Bismillah,  Some birds are common, while some are not that common, and some are rare. But most rare have an entirely different meaning, MOST made the rare birds more detailed, and so this actually means The Most Rare Birds In the world. So are you ready?  Here we go.  Kapako,  Also known as an owl parrot, kapako is an endangered bird, it cannot fly and is native to New Zealand.  Imperial Amazon,  This parrot is found in Dominic, and is very less in number, due to habitat loss and hunting.  Bali mynah, Also known as the bali starling, it is very rare in number, and is only found in the island of Bali.  Spoon-billed sandpiper,  This small wader, known for its spoon-shaped bill, is a rare sight.  South Philippine dwarf king fisher,  This King fisher is native to Philippines, and is rare due to habitat loss.  Stressmann's bristlefont,  This rare bird is native to Brazil, and is known for its distinctive bristles near it's eyes.  Blue -eyed ground-dove,  This small bird is known for

Poem: The Hunt

Bismillah.... The animals,  That are in the Amazon.  And they live peacefully,  For the Amazonia in an enormous forest.   A thousand birds were resting in peace,  When a langur gave a call,  And it was a call no other than a warning call!  And the call meant, a PANTHER!  The birds that flew away from their perches,  And the rabbits that hid in their burrows,  With the fish that swam deeper,  And the langur that climbed farther.   But the Panther had to eat,  So he climbed up farther,  Cus he knew what he'd hunt.  And what he'll hunt will be a langur!  The langur who had given a call,  And the animals had hid,  So whose fault was it?  The langur, of course!  So the panther would seek his revenge,  On the langur who was naughty.  And this is how it goes in the Amazon,  When a langur gives a call!  Salam..... Sidra Khan.

Story Name: Had I But Known

Bismillah,  This story isn't written by me, but it really touched my heart.  So here you go.  Anfal, a rich young girl, sat waiting impatiently at the doctor's clinic to get the results of a medical test. She was in a hurry to attend a party and feared she might be late for her appointment with the hairdresser. She never thought the result would be anything important. It was just a precaution insisted upon by her family. She had never suffered any serious illness, apart from the odd ache in her limbs. Then, it was her turn to see the doctor. She hurried inside to get it over with as quickly as possible. She was surprised to see the doctor look sad and concerned as he asked, 'Is This yours?' She answered, 'No, it is my daughter's. She wanted to know the truth and thought that perhaps he would hide the truth if she told him it was her own. He asked her to have a seat, so she sat feeling somewhat afraid. She looked at him anxiously, as he said, 'Why did not yo

Some Thoughts: Sundays

Bismillah.... Oi! Today is Sunday.  Sun-day,  Sun is supposed to be out.  Because it's Sun-day.  But, not every Sun-day is a sun-day.  Because sometimes sun-day had rain,  Or a storm, still we call it sun-day.  Why?  Shouldn't we call it rain-day when it rains on sun-day?  Or shouldn't call it storm-day when it's a storm on sun-day?  No! We never do that! When there's no sun on Sun-day,  We still call it sun-day.  I might say, it was a thought I had from many days, like Sun Day, so the name suggests that it's a Sun's day. This means the Sun is supposed to be out because it's the sun's day. That makes sense. But when there's no Sun on Sun Day, we still call it Sun Day, although it's raining outside or it's stormy or cloudy, we are supposed to call it Rain Day, Storm Day or Cloud Day depending on the weather. But we still call it Sun Day. Without any sense or any thought. Now tell me, why? Why do we call Sun Day a Sun Day even though there&

Riddles

Bismillah.... Are you all ready for another riddled show? Guess and don't give up. Type your guessed answers in the and I'll check.  So here we go.  1. There’s a one-story house where everything is yellow. The walls are yellow. The doors are yellow. All the furniture is yellow. The house has yellow beds and yellow couches. What colour are the stairs? Hint: The answer is in 'one-story' 2. What invention lets you look right through a wall? Hint: oh oh, this one is very easy, and you have this 'Invention' in your house.  3.  I am easy to lift but hard to throw. What am I? Hint: This thing is very light.  4. I called my dog from the opposite side of the river. The dog crossed the river without getting wet, and without using a bridge, a boat, or a raft. How is that possible? Hint: Think yourself, you don't need any hints.  So I'll give you answers tomorrow, good luck in solving these!  Salam.  Sidra khan

Poem: Loiness

Bismillah,  As I go into the grasslands of Africa,  What I saw was a pride.  The lionesses were hunting,  With the loin resting.  The lionesses jumped,  On the zebras that were their hunt.  I heard a dreadful shriek,  And that was the end of them.  The loin came,  And they enjoyed the feast,  But who had hunted?  The lioness, of course!  So this is how it goes,  In the grasslands of Africa,  The lioness hunts,  While the loin watches.  Ok now, see you tomorrow inshallah,  Salam.  Sidra khan

Rymth

Bismillah.... Yesterday I was reading a novel, called 'If I Should Speak', I've only read one chapter of it. In the first chapter a girl called Tamika and her roommate Jennifer fought, so it was decided that Tamika would leave the room. So as she was doing what she was told. Her mind thought something, and this is it:                                 They say be strong,             But what if I‟m weak?              They say stand up,                 speak out,           But what if I‟m meek?            They say fight hard,          But what if I‟ve no hands?           They say it makes sense,      But what if don't understand?          They  say be like this,       But what if I'm like that?           They say hit hard,        But what if I‟ve no bat?          They say choose this,      But what if I‟ve no choice?        They say tell them this,       But what if I‟ve no voice?     Hope you liked it, Salam,  Sidra khan.

Poem: Jaguars

Bismillah... In between the forest night,  When I went to camp,  Rustling of bushes,  Was what I heard,  In the dead of the night.  Rustle. Rustle!  Again!  This is exactly what I heard!  In the night.  But had I gone to sleep,  In my tent.  Waiting for the morning.  So it might gobble up my fears.  When I was sleeping in my tent,  I heard a roar that shook my heart,  I sat up as fast as a spring.  And dared to look out of my tent's window.  And what I saw, was a jaguar.  I hope you liked this poem.  Salam,  Sidra

Nasheed: The Amazonion Jungle

Amazon! The beauty of the world,  And a home to so many animals!  Jaguars,  Sloths,  Snakes,  And so many other more!  Amazon river!  The beauty of the Amazon,  And a home to so many marine animals!  Pirhanas,  Pink dolphins,  Caimans,  And so many much more!  We don't know what the Amazon has,  It has many living things that's for sure.  Some known, some unknown,  But it has many things that's for sure!  Maybe some medicines,  That might cure cancer,  Or some sort of poison,  That might call cancer.  But it's the beauty of the Amazon,  And my love for it.  That makes me want to go there,  It's like a magnet,  That pulls me towards the Amazon,  No matter how dangerous it is.  I might go there as a tourist,  Or a researcher.  But I'll go.  No matter what.  -Sidra khan Well that's particularly true, I'll go there, I know what you must be thinking, why to go in such a dangerous jungle? Well you'll only find the answer if you LOVE the Amazon.  Your explo

'S' For Sunday, 'S' For Story!

Bismillah,  I thought that you'd all like a story, it's not JUST a story, It a FUNNY story. I'm sure you'll just laugh:). And I heard this story in Urdu, and I'll translate this story into English, so it's not really originally written by me.   So here you go......  When a teacher didn't find a teaching job, she opened a clinic. With the clinic's signboard saying: come and cure your diseases, for 300 rupees, if it doesn't work, then 1000 cashback. A greedy man saw the signboard, he thought: Ohh  wow, I'll lie and say I'm isn't cured, that I'll get 1000 rupees. The greedy man went to the doctor, he said: "Doctor, I'm not getting a taste of anything, please tell me what I should do. " the doctor told the nurse: "Take out the medicine from box B1 and give three drops from it to the patient " the nurse did. And then the greedy man declared: "But.. But this is Petrol!! . " the doctor said: "Congratul

Space63: Neutron Stars

Image
Bismillah...  Neutron stars are wonderful, even more wonderful than black holes, or just anything. They are one of my favourite things in the universe.  So do you want to know what exactly these things are?  Let me tell you. When a big star starts to die, it becomes a red supergiant, and then it explodes into a supernova, sometimes after the supernova, a black hole forms, or...... Neutron stars.  Let me tell you some facts about these outstanding creations of Allah.  • Most neutron stars are very fast rotators (one of them even spinning 700 hundred times in a second) •Neutron stars are very hot, and very dense, hotter than our sun, and if we could bring a small pebble piece of a neutron star, it would weigh more than Mount Everest.  • Neutron stars are not very massive, yup, despite their weight and hotness, they are limited to the size of a big city.  • The Milky Way has about 100 million neutron stars, yeah, but I'm sure there might be more.  Even though they are small, they can

Some Thoughts: Farms In The Sea

Bismillah,  Yesterday, I was reading a paragraph named 'Farms in the Sea' you must be excited, what farms in the sea?! Well, I'm not.                   From my point of view          So from my point of view, I think we are cutting enough trees, hunting enough animals and using enough plastic,  we need to recycle now, like, Industries could melt old plastic then make new things of it rather than making more and more and more plastic, right?  So what I was saying is that now they are talking about farming in the sea, and do you know what it means?  It means that they'll pump out nutrition from the underground, for plankton to grow , then the    free     fish will come to eat the plankton, and then when they'll succeed in attracting the fish, they'll make a fence around them , so as to trap them, and they won't be able to go in the free oceans, it's sooooooo unfair. That the free fish will have to stay trapped. Then I'm telling you the worst part. Tha

Poem: Montaha

Bismillah,  As once in my post, I told you about my pet Montaha, and I had also told her nicknames, Twinkle, Tweety, and cutee so in this nasheed, I'll use these names too. So please don't get confused!  So, here you go.... I once got a pet that was you,  beautiful crust,  And your beautiful cheeks,  I knew how lucky I'd been.  I named you Montaha,  Cus my name was Sidra,  So: sidra-tul-montaha!  You were a faithful one,  Not snappy as Ibro,  Or dying to fly away like other birds.  Oh! You tweeted so beautifully,  So I gave you another name,  Tweety,  Tweety,  Oh! You were so cute!  So I gave you another name,  Cutee, Cutee,  You were so beautiful!  That's why you are...  Twinkle,  Twinkle.  Oh! I love you so- much much,  More than any bird,  Oh- oh Montaha! This is your name,  All the others are your nicknames,  Montaha!  Your Explorer, Sidra Khan.

An Animal Story: The Jungle Of Darkness

Bismillah,  A long time ago, up from the mountains and in the deepest valley, was a dark and dangerous jungle, The jungle of darkness. People living nearby had made myths that black ghosts and witches lived in their. Because whenever anybody went inside, they never ever came out. And even on very rare events, if they came out. They used to say one thing "A black thing, could not see it clearly because of the darkness" The jungle was always dark because it was in a valley. And so, people named the jungle, Darkness, nicknamed the house of ghosts.  Although there was nothing like ghosts, witches or spirits. If one were to go there without knowing the nearby people's myths about the jungle, they would 99.9% would come out. The jungle's name was actually the Panther's Jungle because that jungle was home to thousands of black panthers. The nearby villagers thought that the panthers were ghosts. And as for the people who never came back. They were eaten by panthers, but
