My Tree Climbing Experience

Bismillah,

Many of us must've climbed trees. But I never thought I could climb trees, let alone sit in one and read a book!

I found a beautiful easy-to-climb tree yesterday. I climbed up to a downhole in the trunk but then came down as I could see no place to climb up further. Then when I climbed the up again downhole I saw that there was a high branch which could help me get more up. With some difficulty, I heaved myself up... That part of the tree climb is the most tiring. I looked around, and it was a fantastic view, I was balanced nicely on the strong supporting branches. I saw a place where I could sit but I also got to know that I had to squeeze between 2 big fat branches to reach there, but I couldn't, the place was too narrow for me to squeeze through anyway. So I brought myself down and went home.

But after a short nap with a purse stuffed with a book (time travelling with Hamster by Ross Welford), a piece of homemade cake and some dates. I went to the park ready to face anything that came in front of me (well I only faced branches :) I climbed up to the branch I had climbed up. I looked for another branch that was not too narrow. I found one!

Making sure there were other branches I could balance in after I squeezed through the branch. I stepped up, guiding myself carefully through the branches with my hands. I was in the centre of the tree now.

I don't really have words to describe how it felt like.

I felt like I had won a World Cup, or as if I had broken a world record.

There were main branches surrounding me, sunlight seeping through. My face was bathed with golden sunshine, my face interrupted into a real big smile.

But I had to go on... I heaved myself up and sat on a safe comfy branch. Surrounded by thin yet strong branches, I opened my book and ate my cake. I looked up and saw satisfying branches above that looked like a maze.

I was thinking about the birds and the squirrels that lived in this tree. They must've known my presence. I hope I'm not disturbing them. This is their home after all.

Even though I wanted to go down after some time. My heart didn't agree, with the cool breeze flowing past me and the birdsong echoing through the tree, it felt like the tree wanted me to stay. I did stay a bit longer, but I didn't read. I was quite high up and it wasn't the time to read (even though I like reading) it was time to enjoy the view.

I was quite high up, but the branches held me safely like a helpful Freind, it felt impossible to fall, it's a good thing I'm not afraid of heights.

I went down even though I didn't want to, but I knew I could come back.

Today I climbed the tree and it was really, really refreshing thing. But now I'm quite fast climbing up and down.

Climbing tree is just an art of balancing and being not afraid of heights. And thanks to this tree, I got a new place to explore!

    1. Yes, you are right. That's probably why I didn't want to come down. It does gets a bit cold in the evening, but it's alright.
