My Pets

 Bismillah...

What if I tell you about my pets today?

In many posts, I've explained the importance of pets, animals, how we take care of them etc. I have also posted a poem about my parrots.

But now. I'll give you more information about her.

Cockatiels have always been sweet by nature.  And, they are very loyal too. As I had explained in many of my posts too.

You know, my parrots were actually a gift for me. My parents had given them to me as a surprise.

Before I had any pets, I had really never thought about them. Whoever, I liked cats.

I had never thought about parrots, till my mother told us that we could have a toy train OR parrots. Of course, I said parrots (for nature lovers like me, the answer will always be the answer that'll take us close to nature) although, my brothers said train!

Now, it's all a little blur because this all happened two years ago.

My parents went to the market, leaving us at home. I actually liked it that way. Then, I was sitting in the children's room, my parents knocked on the door, and my brother went out to open it. And then when I stepped out of the children's room.

My mom said "SURPRISE!!!"

My. Mom. Had. A. Cage. It had a blue roof, and a white body, with two plastic white-transparent containers for food and water.

And in the cage were two yellow birds, with orange-red cheeks, black-red eyes and pink beaks and feet.

Best surprise I ever had in my whole life.

Now, I'll share with you some funny stories about these parrots.

My bird's perch story

Yes!  My parrots were termites. You know, a wooden perch that's always in the cage?  My parrots used to bite it to pieces in a week. My dad bought a new one from the shop, they broke it again, it happened like that for a long time. Until my dad, tired of the game, brought a plastic perch.

Well, it was broken by my parrots in a month.

For some days after that, the cage stayed perch-less. Until I brought a small fallen branch from the park as a perch. It definitely stayed for more days compared to the other perches.

But it was broken by my parrots.

We bought another one from the park. The same fate awaited it.

Then, we brought two fat and strong branches from the park, one I made into a perch, and the other one as a toy.

Since then, my parrots have stopped.

I think they like it.

My birds and the walls and furniture.

Oh yes!  They're still an enemy of their perch and wooden toy, they still bite it, I don't know why. And they look really cute while doing this all. And nothing happens to the perch.

But, not very long ago. I found my birds like to eat the walls cement.

Uh! I let them do it. I found, they don't eat the cement, they just break it from the wall. Simple! (hah! That's not what I mean. )

My parrots also like to destroy the wood furniture.

And they do this all without actually leaving their  cage!

I know, you might be thinking, what's up with them?  Well, I really don't get annoyed, I like the way they're

Eating the furniture and cement?  Move the cage away from the walls and furniture.

Eating perches?  Give them lots of toys and strong perch.

And! They like eating bread and corrindor.

So, do you know that if Montaha (my female bird) is outside her cage with me (not in the balcony, in the house) and if I'm holding her, she'll stay with me?

What she loves is her cage.

This is montaha, today, she was with me as I wrote this blog. Even now.

I can write forever about the fun times we did, we were together from two years.

I can't imagine my life without them.

Salam....
