Nature 23: The Amazon Jungle

The amazon jungle is the biggest jungle of the world, it covers an area of 6.7 millions killometeres providing home to millions of species of birds, plants, trees, animals, insects and much more, some still undiscovered by scientists.

The amazon helps the atmosphere fight climate change, if the amazon disappeared. The human race is likely to suffer from climate change and many more things. Millions of animals live in the amazon that help human beings, if those animals disappeared, the humans will suffer from that. The Amazon isn't only a home to animals, burds, plants, trees and insects, but a home to humans too. Like the wild tribes and cannibals (human eaters) who depend on the amazon for security, food and survival.

The amazon gives us 20% of world's oxygen. The amazon is home to 10% of known species Nearly two-thirds of the Amazon rainforest is found in Brazil. The Amazon is thought to have 2.5 million species of insects. More than half the species in the Amazon rainforest are thought to live in the conopy. And there's so much more.

The amazon is disappearing at an alarming speed, taking the endangered species with it. It's all due to deforestation, people cut trees for wood, and place for thier "cattle" to graze. Friends, we can all do something to protect our forests. Don't buy ivory items. Buy leather made of buffalo skin. Don't buy snake or crocodile skin. And friends, I'm giving you a friendly advice don't buy anything made of the jungle and it's inhabitants, unless you need it.

We can save our jungles by doing some of those things.

Your loving explorer,
Sidra khan.
