Story: Chandaryan

 Once my school principal announced, that we'd be going to the moon, on a rocket named 'Chandrayan', not all the kids in the school, but the kids that could pass their tests.

You must be shocked, What moon trip for kids!?
but this is a time in which it isn't a big thing to go to Mars or the moon, just pay (a little)fees and pass their tests, and of you go up in the rocket, it's all possible because it's 2123.

I was preparing for those tests, that you had to pass to get in the rocket After I did the tests, I passed all of them, The school selected 10 kids from our school, and my ma'am had also said one of us could take our pet in the rocket, but only on one condition, the pet must be a cat and it should be well mannered, so I showed her my Mimi (my pet kitten), she was pleased with Mimi, and so she was selected for the trip.

One of those ten students was my best friend, Sofia, she had been my friend when we were small, maybe 4 years old, then when we were 8 years old her family migrated to another country, but our friendship didn't end there, we still talked on messages and calls, and after that, her family came back to India, so now our friendship wasn't on call or messages, we could meet each other in person.

I was on my bed in the school, all the ten kids were sleeping in the school, because we'll be waking up early so that's why we didn't go back home, but yes we did go back to pack our bags, my bag had simple things, cat food, cat toys, cat pillow, a few clothes for me, tablet so I could make videos and text my parents, snacks, and more things, I also took Mimi and gave her a new collar in which was written 'space cat'.

So anyway, it was midnight, I was trying to sleep but I couldn't sleep, Sofia couldn't sleep too, Mimi was fast asleep.
We waited for morning, waited, waited, Sofia slept, only I was left and fortunately I slept too.

The school bell rang, and finally time for rocket, but first I got up from my bed, changed clothes, and got Mimi ready, I myself got ready and then we all took our bags and climbed on the bus, We were going to the space station by bus.

I received a few messages from my mom,

Mom: Have you started for the station?
We'll be there, to see the launch
Me: Yes Mom I've started for the station and it'll be great if see the launch.
Mom: Yes.

We finally reached the station, I got hold of my bag, Mimi's collar lace, and with my free hand, I linked my hand with Sofia's, and then we both got out of the bus, A sweet woman welcomed us.

Woman: Hi I'm Lara and I'll be a guide for you, What are your names?
Me: nice to meet you, I'm Rosa.
Sofia: Oh, nice to meet you too, I'm Sofia.
She asked the names of the other children too, but then I heard someone calling me, my parents were at the station!

It was the time for the launch,I was nervous, but Lara had said it'd be okay and nothing Would happen, Mimi really didn't know what was happening, poor kitty.

We boarded the rocket and wore our seat belts, I caught a hold of Sofia's hand, and Mimi also had a seat belt, I caught a hold of her paw too, and then the rocket started, It started shaking first, then backwards counting, and then finally,3,2,1, goooooo!!!
The rocket started shaking, and then up up up up and out of the atmosphere.
Finally, we got out of the earth, phew, so now we could unstrap ourselves from seatbelts and walk without gravity!

Mimi seemed very confused without gravity, but she soon got well, we looked out of the window, the world looked sooo very big and beautiful, Lara even did a spacewalk!

I took my camera and snapped a photo, Sofia, I and Mimi shared on cabin, we set up our cabin and then had a rest.

Our cabin was small with two small beds, nets for our things, and some space for mimi, There were 6 cabins in our rocket, and every child had to share with someone, The sixth cabin was big, it was for Lara and two other people, we were to get breakfast at 8:00 am and if someone woke early, they could have snacks before breakfast, lunch was at 2:00 am, you could have snacks in between, supper at 4:00 pm and dinner at 9:00 pm.

We had our supper, and I went to my cabin to record things in my journal, Sofia saw outside the window, and Mimi was taking a cat nap, but suddenly the emergency rang, and we all ran out of our cabins and into the main deck, were Lara and two other people, lily and Mustafa were standing staring into the big rocket screen,
Lily: Children a big....space rock is coming towards us
Mustafa: Yes it never happened before.
Me: Is it harmful?
Lara: It could be if we don't act quickly
Sofia: What do we have to do?
Lily: Musafa?
Mustafa: Hmm...err...yeah we'll have to get out of its way
Lily: That's easy
Lara: Yeah but we should all wear our seat belts in case of any.....
Musafa:Lara is right Go and strap yourself on your seatbelts while I fight with this monster
All of us: yes SIRR!!

All of us strapped ourselves on the seat belts, Sofia caught my hand and I gripped it tightly and closed my eyes, and after 5 minutes or so, Musafa excitedly came and said loudly, WE ARE SAFE, WE ARE SAFE, We all went to the main deck and saw there was no space rock in front of us, it was all clear, we all thanked Musafa and hugged each other, Lara took Mimi in her hands and she purred softly as if she was happy too.

We finally reach the moon.
After travelling for 3 days, we finally reached the moon, I was so excited, We stepped out to the moon, and everybody had something to leave there, and I knew what I'd do, I'd leave a picture of my beautiful Kitten, We all got a space suit, I thought that Mimi wouldn't be able to go with me, but fortunately, they had a small space suit for Mimi too, after taking our spacesuits, we finally stepped on the moon, I had my camera with me, so I took a thousand pictures,mimi was confused on the moon, she stayed very still and stared at the moon surface.

We even saw Neil Astormang's footprints!

After staying on the moon for 1 day, we got into our spaceship, and then we launched out of the moon, I was looking at the moon, I didn't even feel scared, I felt deep sadness, I didn't want to go back, but then my tablet got a massage from my dad.
Dad: Are you on your way back?
Me: Yeah, I'll be there fast, miss you soo much,

Dad:I miss you too Rosa

We reached the space station after three days, and my parents were
waiting for me, I was sad to leave the rocket, but I was happy too, to be back on earth, I was also happy to meet my other pets (two cocktails) I hugged Lara and Lili.

Me: Thank you, Lara, for being my guide, thank you, Lily, for helping me and thank you Musafa, for saving us from that space rock, I'll miss you all.
Lara, Lily, Musafa: Your welcome Rosa, we'll miss you too.

I waved bye to those three kind people, hugged my parents and then set for home with my parents and Mimi.- Sidra Khan
